Introduction
In your opinion, is allowing 800 million people to starve each day while the wealthy take joy rides into space an acceptable model of society? Is using war as a means to financially benefit one’s private interests an acceptable model of society? Is deeming someone an unworthy human based on their surname, place of birth, medical status or how much money they have an acceptable model of society?
If you feel inequality such as these examples are acceptable in today’s society, then this book absolutely is not for you and may we suggest purchasing one of those business strategy Best Sellers. However, if you feel we can do better; that there is more; that society is running well below any reasonable level of thriving; and that humanity is set for an evolutionary leap then continue reading.
The BRIDGE is a viable, practical pathway out of the capitalist mess we find ourselves in. It combines business/finance, community collaboration and personal development onto a social structure, altogether superior to capitalism, and is indeed an Upgrade to Society’s Operating System.
“Crossing The BRIDGE” would bring society to a place where all of our favorite advanced societal structures await – Venus Project, One Small Town, Auroville, New Earth Project and others; models that prioritise actual human needs and ingenuity over arbitrary and fictional bottoms lines.
Crossing The BRIDGE would also mean the end of Greenpeace, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army and other humanitarian organisations because the unbalanced incentives which cause the problems these groups are tasked to fix will no longer exist.
The BRIDGE has the ability to align every business and social movement in the world onto a common platform. No matter what one’s motivation – humanitarian or capitalist – The BRIDGE unites us all towards a higher standard of living and the possibility of a human civilisation once again in harmony with Nature. The only people who would be left not wanting The BRIDGE are the owners of money, who have held us slaves to their commodity for centuries.
These statements may seem like a utopian prospect, but only from our current vantage point. It would certainly be naïve to think human conflict will cease in this proposed societal paradigm. But the corrupt incentives like greed and inequality will no longer be variables in this environment making room for natural human processes and systems to emerge.
This workbook, in combination with the video modules found on activateus.org, will help anyone who wants to learn The BRIDGE and help Release More of Humanity’s Potential.
About Activate Us
Activate Us was formed by two people formerly involved in the Ubuntu Liberation movement. Cindy Roberts was the Administrator on team Canada, who, at the time, were the only people in the world to attempt the Ubuntu One Small Town strategy – a societal structure using “the tools of enslavement as the tools of liberation”.
Ray Bretzloff had been the newest member of Team Canada at that time, arriving to witness group dynamics becoming too much of an obstacle for the team to overcome and preventing the One Small Town strategy from being fully implemented.
That attempt ended without accomplishing its intended outcomes but did reveal valuable insight and ultimately lead to the creation of The BRIDGE.
The realisation that societal structures won’t stay intact unless interpersonal systems are established, and that those methods of community relations won’t hold up unless each individual has, at least, acknowledged and taken responsibility to reconcile their own person traumas, became the second of two significant lessons learned from the Ubuntu experiment integrated into The BRIDGE.
The other significant lesson learned was the need for a practical set of actions that could, not only be replicated across business, community and industry, but also be applied to culture, individual and spiritual systems – a fractal model that applies to all aspects of society, from macro to micro, material to etheric,
The BRDIGE is that model.
About one year into Activate Us’ work on The BRIDGE Rebecca Gretz saw its potential and decided to lend her expertise, with the goal of implementing a more refined BRIDGE into her, already established community who were committed to ushering in a new, more evolved human society.
This core team of three has stuck together, forging through personal trials and project related setbacks, keeping personal growth and community collaboration at the forefront, practicing and refining The BRIDGE to the best of their abilities.
Now, the next groups of change makers have begun to show themselves. With the initiation of various business projects employing aspects of The BRIDGE, the creation of the B-Team supporting those practicing The BRIDGE, and of course you, who are actively learning The BRIDGE.
Together we can help release more of humanity’s potential by upgrading Society’s Operating System.
Ray and Cindy began developing The BRIDGE in 2017, with Rebecca rounding out the team in 2018. Since then they have built four businesses in Activate Us’ Cascade. None of these on their own will necessarily alter the trajectory of humanity, however they are the only source of finance for Activate Us to continue this work and they are solid first steps – providing valuable learning for you, the next change makers, who will further refine The BRIDGE for the next group. And so on.
The four businesses currently run by Activate Us are:
Skid Markz – reclaiming pallet wood to create functional and decorative items for home and office. Skid Markz is a zero waste company making use of wood, saw dust, shavings and even the nails. And any wood not useable for building is sold as firewood.

Monkey Wrenches is a book written by Ray Bretzloff and published by Activate Us. It is a wonderful book on its own, perfect for anyone drawn to challenging conventional ways of thinking. It is also part of the Activate Us cascade.
Before This Workbook was even a simple list of questions, The B-Team was created as a way for those practicing The BRIDGE to support one another as we all learn. By taking this training program you are welcome and encouraged to join the B-Team community as we all write history together.
Our fourth business (to date) is a Print-on-Demand store called AUM (Activate Us Merchandise). We create digital graphic designs, upload them to a website who prints our designs on a variety of novelty items. We’ve selected only socially and ecologically conscious items to put our designs on and each one can be previewed through the store page on our website. When a person purchases a coffee mug (for example) with the slogan “That’s so Old Paradigm” the mug gets printed and shipped. No surplus inventory, using only what is needed.
